About Us

The Pixley ka Seme district lies in the south-east of the Northern Cape province and shares its borders with three other provinces, namely, the Free State province to the east, the Eastern Cape to the south-east and the Western Cape to the south-west. It is one of five district municipalities in the province and is the second largest covering a total surface area of 102 727 km². It consists of 8 category “B” municipalities, namely : Emthanjeni, Kareeberg, Renosterberg, Siyancuma, Siyathemba, Thembelihle, Ubuntu and Umsobomvu. Emthanjeni is the largest and Renosterberg the smallest of these municipalities.

• Supporting our local municipalities to create a home for all in our towns, settlements and rural areas to render dedicated services.

• Providing political and administrative leadership and direction in the development planning process.

• Promoting economic growth that is shared across and within communities.

• Promoting and enhancing integrated development plaaning in the operations of our municipalities.

• Aligning development initiatives in the district to the NAtional Developement Plan.
